Case Study #1 – Records management compliance plan

Client Challenge

  • This provincial government operation was in process of restructuring from a crown corporation into an independent company. As an independent entity, it would still be subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and as such, a records management program was required to enable compliance under the legislation.

Our Role

  • To develop a records management plan for the new company. This included a diagnosis and needs analysis of the existing situation, action plan, and implementation plan for the new records management program.


  • The organization gained increased awareness about the status of its current records management practices and the steps it needed to take to implement a state-of-the-art program.
  • Study and materials produced during the project gave the organization the information and products needed to produce an efficient and effective records management program.
